There are many situations where you can't use standard tracking methods for a website or service, such as integrating Matomo's JavaScript. One alternative is to use the official Log Analytics from Matomo. However, if you require real-time data, this option is not feasible. That's why we are now introducing the Analytics Log Agent.
The Analytics Log Agent is currently in its early alpha stages, and we are releasing it early because we believe that building solutions collaboratively within the open-source community is more beneficial for everyone than keeping them hidden. It certainly has many bugs and limited capabilities, but it does exist, and could just be better.
With the Analytics Log Agent, you can even track bots that do not execute JavaScript, as well as apps with no user interface. The Analytics Log Agent can be installed in almost any environment, and it is built in Go, which is very memory efficient.
The Analytics Log Agent is available on GitHub, and it also has its own Matomo plugin for reporting errors, such as 404s, enabling you to improve your SEO from server logs.
